It’s officially Fall. And if you live in a climate that is changing, you are probably feeling a big difference in your skin.
Fall means cooler weather, drier air, gusty wind and less sunlight. Changes that can make our skin feel less hydrated, tighter and more susceptible to sensitivities, discoloration and uneven skin tone.
How can you uplevel your skin care routine for the fall, to make sure your skin keeps healthy and looking vibrant?
Here are 5 tips to improve the way you take care of your skin this fall:
1️⃣ Exfoliate!
But do it gently. With the climate change from warm humidity to cooler drier air, our skin can start feeling and looking dull and flaky.
One of the best things we can do to combat this, and support our skin’s natural regeneration process, is to exfoliate at least 1 to 2 times per week. Our skin needs a little help navigating the seasonal transition from the warm moist summer air to windier and drier days and nights. We suggest using gentle powders, like oat flour, chickpea flour and rice flour and dampening with some warm water to cleanse and exfoliate your face.
Try this easy DIY gentle exfoliating scrub recipe:
- 1 TBSP of Oat flour, chickpea flour or rice flour.
- ¼ tsp of Matcha green tea powder.
- 2 tsp of warm water
- Mix into a paste and apply to a clean damp face, massaging in small circular motions.
- Use a warm wet washcloth to wipe away.
2️⃣ Hydrate your skin as much as possible.
3️⃣ Nourish your skin with plant powered nutrients that include vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids.
4️⃣ Repair the sun damage from the summer.
5️⃣ Seal in Hydration.
- 1 TBSP of Pracaxi Oil
- 1 TBSP of Passion Fruit Oil
- 1/4 tsp of Buriti Oil
Our skin is truly amazing, it has a remarkable ability to regenerate and restore itself, and respond and react to the surrounding environment and climate. And when we can support this naturally occurring process, by feeding it 100% natural, plant powered ingredients, like our specialty skin oils - we can guarantee it will keep feeling and looking clearer, healthier and more vibrant.
